Numerous students on to earn advance degrees with a number of PHD\u2019s a federal judge and an international recognized architect. Many owned and operated their businesses.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In sports Avondale dominated losing only close game for state championship. The B team and 8th grade and scored on only once. Two years later they would win the state. The girl\u2019s basketball team lost a close regional game and the boys a close game for state.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0We had an outstanding group of teachers. Many had advance degrees. Our annual was dedicated to Olin Cook who went on to earn a PHD and serve as a state representative in the Arkansas legislature as chair of the education committee. Vic Campbell became an orthopedic surgeon and mentor in Greenville, SC as well as an annual boast of Olde Time Farm Days at his working farm in Greer. Several others left to teach in colleges.
